Lumberjack's Dynasty 1.0
Ten months of Early Access, then a 25 February 2021 launch with a mill, a family, and licensed forestry kit.
Version 1.0 is the build this wiki is written against. UMEO Studios developed, Toplitz Productions published. Early Access opened 30 April 2020. The full Steam launch was 25 February 2021. If a guide still talks about “when 1.0 lands,” it is leftover EA prose. The game has been out for years.
The Gamescom trailer on this page is the pre-launch pitch: first-person woods, machines, a valley. The official 1.0 launch trailer (Toplitz upload Zv928JD76JQ, also on the homepage) is the same message with release polish. Watch either, then play the Getting Started order instead of free-roaming a broken barn for three hours.
What Toplitz said 1.0 was
The launch news post framed 1.0 as more than a chainsaw. Large projects such as bridge-building, cleaner characters and environments, and the life-sim layer (family, cooking, fishing, honey, vegetables) sat next to forestry. The Digital Supporter Pack shipped the same day: soundtrack, wallpapers, a Getting Started PDF, Ponsse feature videos, world map.
Ponsse machines were not a 1.0 surprise. They arrived in August 2020. 1.0 kept Bison, Scorpion, and Cobra. If your mental model is “1.0 added Ponsse,” correct it: 1.0 shipped with Ponsse already in. Shopping ranks are on the vehicle tier list.
Systems that define the 1.0 loop
- Logging minigame — orange saw bar, yellow borders, Engineer’s Sight. Logging.
- Mill economy — logs, blanks, dry planks, bark, chips. Mill profits.
- Loan / landlord — pay uncle, own camp and mill, unlock later quests including dating. Make money.
- Skills — mechanic from owned equipment, forage from Lilly, fishing from Ryan, cooking from books.
- Family — Husband and Father achievements. Marriage.
- 33 Steam achievements — from Driver (own a tractor) to Rich man (1,000,000 Euro) and Beloved (1,000,000 SP).
None of this is online. Steam categories list single-player, achievements, trading cards, family sharing, full controller support. Ignore misleading user tags; there is no shared-session mode to boot.
What 1.0 did not magically fix
Rock Paper Shotgun’s EA review roasted repair-icon fatigue and jank. 1.0 reduced some of that and left plenty. The review page is honest: Mostly Positive on Steam, not a universal darling. Repair nodes still exist. Trees still bounce. The mill still wants you to wait. 1.0 is a complete game in the sense that the loop is whole, not in the sense that every NPC always faces you like a human.
If you are installing in 2026, you still want two save slots, Sight on a comfortable bind, and the uncle paid before a factory. Those habits are 1.0 habits, not EA workarounds.
Editions and price
Standard Steam price is 19.99 USD before discounts. Digital Supporter Edition bundles the extra pack. GOG and Epic also sell the PC version. Console 1.0-line ports arrived later; they are not this page. Use console release and system requirements.
After 1.0
Hotfixes existed (community tables mention 1.01). This wiki does not pretend to be a full Steam news RSS. If a dealer price disagrees with a 2021 table, trust the dealer. If a quest marker dies, backup the %APPDATA%\LumberjacksDynasty\Save slot and try a reload before you assume you need a new patch.
For the calendar view, return to the updates hub. For playing, return to Getting Started. 1.0 is old enough to have a meta. That meta is dry oak, legal cuts, and a crane trailer — not a battle pass. If a 2026 thumbnail still says Early Access, it is recycled footage. The Steam store, the achievement list, and the mill in your save are the 1.0 game. Treat YouTube dates the way you treat wet planks: look twice before you sell the story.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
When did 1.0 launch?
25 February 2021 on Steam, after Early Access from 30 April 2020.
Did 1.0 add Ponsse machines?
No. Ponsse kit landed in August 2020. 1.0 kept it. See vehicles.
Is 1.0 still the current PC version?
Yes, plus later hotfixes. Steam's public branch is the 1.0 lineage, not a new sequel.
Where is the launch trailer?
The homepage embeds Toplitz's 1.0 trailer. This page uses the Gamescom trailer so each article keeps a unique video.
