Lumberjack's Dynasty Tree Tier List
Buy the stand for the species, not for the postcard. Oak dries into money. Red trunks dry into fines.
Land listings in Lumberjack’s Dynasty show a pretty slope and a price. They do not shout which species will sit on your mill board ten days later. This list ranks what you should hunt when you buy forests, and what you should refuse even if the trees are close to the road. Cut technique stays on logging. Pallet prices stay on mill profits and the product tier list.
Recorded mill examples (per dry plank pallet, community boards): oak around 360, birch around 330, pine around 210. Bark values also differ (birch, oak, spruce, pine have been logged near 8–15 Euro ranges in German community tables). Your 1.0 board can drift. The rank order has been stable: oak and birch above the pines.
S tier
Oak — Slow to mill in volume, first in Euro per pallet. If a listing is oak-heavy, pay more for the land. Dry it. Do not sell wet oak because you are impatient.
Legal job trees inside a yellow border — Not a species, a situation. Quest wood you are told to keep is free S-tier stock. Take every log after the marker pile is full.
A tier
Birch — Close to oak on dry pallets, often easier to find. A-tier land. Good mixer with oak when a stand is mixed.
Your own replant — After grinding stumps (vehicles for the tools), plant dense. A forest you already own is better than a new listing you cannot staff. Logan-style quests punish leftover seedlings; save first.
B tier
Pine — Volume. Fine for keeping the mill fed while oak dries. Bad as your only species. If the listing is cheap, it is probably pine. Buy it when you have a crane and a dryer, not as your first trophy land.
Spruce — Softwood cousin. Treat like pine unless your board shows a surprise. B for volume, not for a prestige save.
Bushes — Always legal, never valuable. Clear them so trailers can drive. Do not plan a business on shrubs.
C tier / do not cut
Protected or off-property trunks (red in Engineer’s Sight) — Negative value. Fine plus Social Point loss. Worse than not playing. The logging page exists because this mistake feels like it should be a slap on the wrist. It is not.
Neighbour decorative trees along public roads — Same as red. The postcard oak by the church is not a listing.
Stumps left after a clear — Not a tree anymore, still a problem. Unfinished stands do not grow money. Grind them.
How to scout a listing

- Drive to the parcel with Engineer’s Sight on.
- Note species mix and whether the yellow work line matches the fence you think you are buying.
- Count whether a trailer can enter. A beautiful oak bowl with no road is a hand-carry tax.
- Compare land price to a few dry oak pallets. If the land costs more than you can process this season, wait. Make money would rather you cook for a week.
- After purchase, cut, haul, dry, grind, plant. Skipping the last two is how S-tier oak becomes a brown scar.
Machines vs species
A Ponsse Scorpion does not change oak into pine. It changes how fast you can fill the mill. If the mill is a bottleneck, stay on the product tier list before you buy another stand. If hauling is the bottleneck, read the vehicle tier list and get a Bison or a better trailer. Species rank is about what you cut, not how fast.
Achievements
Lumberjack / Master lumberjack (50 / 500 trees), Tree planter / Master tree planter (50 / 500), Forester / Master forester (5 / 25 forests). Planting ranks prefer you to treat B-tier pine as a replant canvas, not as trash. Own forests, do not only strip them.

Which tree should I buy land for first?
Oak if you can afford the listing, birch if not. Pine is acceptable volume after you already dry planks reliably.
Can I cut trees beside the road on the way to my forest?
Only inside your yellow border or a job zone. Roadside pretty trunks are usually fines. Use Engineer's Sight.
Do I need to replant?
For quests, yes. For money, yes if you want that parcel to pay again. Grinder and planter are cheap on the vehicle tier list.
Why do my pine pallets pay so little?
Pine dry planks sit well below oak and birch on typical boards. Mix species or accept volume. See mill profits.
