Guides Hub

This hub is the map of every how-to on the wiki. Lumberjack’s Dynasty mixes a chainsaw minigame, a mill that dries wood for days, neighbour quests, and a life-sim layer that only opens after you buy the camp from your uncle. New players bounce between those systems without a sequence. Use the pages below in order if you just arrived in Pinewood Valley, or jump to the mechanic that is currently blocking you.

First week

Start with Getting Started. That page is a quest order, not a lore recap: rescue uncle, repair workshop and barn, return Christine’s pickup, help Lilly and Mayor Ryan, restore the sawmill, then complete Oliver and Isaac so you own a tractor and a wood trailer. Until those two machines exist, every log is a walking chore and every forest purchase is a trap.

The tutorial tractor your uncle drives is not yours. Treat it as a demo. Your real early fleet is quest junk: the old pickup, Oliver’s tractor, Isaac’s crane trailer, and later a stump grinder if you talk to Isaac again after the farm jobs.

Logging without fines

How to cut trees is the page people search after their first red-axe penalty. Engineer’s Sight (right mouse by default) is not optional flavour. It paints the yellow harvest border, marks protected trunks, and shows branch and length icons after a tree is down. Cut inside the line, fell with the look direction, delimb, then buck to trailer length. Bushes are always legal. Neighbour trees and park timber are not.

If you already own forests, still read logging before you hire a Ponsse in your head. A Scorpion does not forgive a red trunk; it only makes the fine arrive faster. Pair the logging page with the tree tier list so you know whether a stand is oak, birch, pine, or spruce before you pay the land price.

Money, mill, and the uncle loan

How to make money and mill profits answer the same argument from two angles. Neighbour nail-gun jobs and cooking fund the first week. The mill funds the rest, but only if you dry planks instead of dumping wet logs. Oak and birch pallets pay more than pine. Bark and chipboard are side products, not a replacement for dry lumber.

The furniture factory is the common false shortcut. Buying it before the loan is cleared stalls dating, extra vehicle quests, and the large build jobs that pay more than a week of factory pallets. Pay the uncle. Then buy machines from the vehicle guide and the vehicle tier list.

Life sim between cuts

Cooking is the quiet money printer: buy eggs, milk, pumpkins, fish, and mushrooms from every shop, cook at home, sell the dishes. Four cookbooks (fish, egg, honey, mushroom) are read-once items. Marriage waits until the loan is gone. Daily compliments raise affection; Husband and Father are Steam achievements, not automatic cutscenes.

Skills sit under the same roof. Mechanic ranks come from how much equipment you own, not from a trainer NPC. One with Nature comes from Lilly’s mushroom quest. Fishing starts when you save Mayor Ryan and pick up the rod. Treasure hunter ranks track chests on the map. None of these replace mill income, but they stop the day from being only a saw bar.

Machines and controls

When the old trailer is too small, read vehicles then the vehicle tier list. Formica Flavius machines from the 2021 Machines patch live on the western lot — patch history dates them. Dealers sit in the north-east and south-west. Full Euro price or half cash plus the same amount of Social Points. Licensed Ponsse kit (Bison, Scorpion, Cobra) is late-game; the Timberjack from Carson’s planting job is the mid-game spike.

If the saw bar, crane, or truck camera feels wrong, open controls. Keyboard, mouse, and full controller support are all valid. Steam Deck is unsupported. System requirements lists the 1.0 PC spec and the later console ports.

How to use this hub

Every guide page links to its siblings in this category. If a sentence sends you to mill numbers, the mill page sends you back to logging. Do not collect a pile of forests until you can process what you cut.

Lumberjack’s Dynasty is a 2021 single-player release, not a live-service with weekly codes. The wiki stays useful because the loop is deep, not because the developers drip new seasons. Read the review if you still need to know whether the jank is worth the chainsaw.

Official storefronts and support sit on official links. Community guides and discussion live on community links.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Which guide should I open first?

Open Getting Started and follow it until you own Oliver's tractor and Isaac's trailer. Then read logging before you buy land.

Do these guides assume the 1.0 PC version?

Yes. The 1.0 Steam build from 25 February 2021 is the reference. Console ports from June 2022 share the same systems but carry extra bugs; see the console release notes.

Is there a codes or scripts page?

No. Lumberjack's Dynasty is a paid single-player sim. There are no redeemable codes and no in-game script hub. Use make money instead.

Where do vehicle prices live?

Full tables are on the vehicle tier list. Quest machines and Ponsse roles are explained in the vehicles guide.
