Lumberjack's Dynasty on Console
Same Pinewood Valley on PlayStation 4 and Xbox from 30 June 2022, with a bumpier mill and map.
Lumberjack’s Dynasty left PC in the summer of 2022. Toplitz announced PlayStation and Xbox with a reveal trailer (embedded above) and shipped 30 June 2022 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series. The loop is the 1.0 PC loop: cut, haul, mill, repair, marry. The port is where the wiki has to be less cheerful.
This page is not a refund guide. It is a list of extra pain so console lumberjacks do not think they missed a PC-only tutorial. Core systems still match Getting Started, logging, and make money.
What the port includes
- Full controller support as the default life, not an afterthought. Saw-bar axis still needs a careful bind; read controls.
- The same mill, loan, Ponsse shopping, and family achievements (trophy lists mirror Steam: Driver, Husband, Father, Mill worker, and the rest).
- ESRB Everyone with alcohol reference and mild language on the Xbox store listing.
- No Steam Workshop, no Deck, no codes. Still single-player.
Xbox store copy calls it a first-person life simulation of a lumberjack founding a dynasty. That is accurate. It is also accurate that PC players had a two-year head start on patches.
Bugs console players report more often
Community threads (including comments on official getting-started videos) mention:
- Mayor / hotel quests that will not complete.
- Logs turning into boulder-like objects.
- Stump grinder or tree planter tools doing nothing.
- Markers that point at the mill while you are already inside it.
- Repair icons that never clear.
PC had versions of these during Early Access. 1.0 cleaned a lot. Ports reintroduced enough that a console save needs more backup slots, not fewer. If a quest bricks, reload an earlier save before you grind another twenty trees into a broken marker.
The mill still dries on the same clock. If a pallet never dries, treat it as a bug, not as a hidden 1.0 change. Sight the plank. Restart the game. Then restore a save. Mill profits numbers are still the PC board; use them as order-of-magnitude, not as a contract.
Should you buy console or PC?
Buy PC if you can. That is the reference build, the one with Steam news, and the one this wiki tests sentences against. Buy console if it is the only machine in the house and you can live with a janky sim. The reveal trailer is pretty. The valley is still pretty. The saw is still a timing bar.
Series consoles will look cleaner than Xbox One. The bottleneck is design and port QA, not only GPU. Do not expect a current-gen remake. There was not one in the 2025–2026 Steam notes we tracked.
Cross-play, saves, mods
No cross-play. There is nothing to cross. No PC save import. No official mods on console. PC save folder tricks (%APPDATA%\LumberjacksDynasty\Save) do not apply. Use the console’s own save management and keep two slots anyway.
After you boot on a pad
- Rebind Sight and the saw axis (controls).
- Follow Getting Started until tractor and trailer exist.
- Do not buy a forest until logging legality is muscle memory. Fines hurt more when a quest is already fragile.
- If a tool quest is the one community calls broken (stump, plant, mayor), keep a save before you accept it.
- Read version 1.0 so you know which features are real and which were EA promises already shipped.
Official storefronts sit on official links. If the port ruins a week, Toplitz support is still the email on that page. This wiki will not pretend a PS4 mill is identical to a 1.0 Steam mill. It will tell you the uncle still wants to be paid first.
