Lumberjack's Dynasty System Requirements
64-bit Windows, DirectX 11, 12 GB on disk. Consoles arrived in 2022. Steam Deck is unsupported.
Lumberjack’s Dynasty runs on UMEO / Toplitz’s Argon engine. It is a 2021 1.0 PC game with later console ports, not a current-gen showcase. Buy it if you like forestry sims; do not buy it expecting Nanite forests. Specs below are from the Steam store page. Always recheck Steam if you are reading this years later.
PC minimum (Steam)
- OS: Windows 7, 8, 10 (64-bit). Note Steam itself dropped Windows 7/8 client support in 2024, so treat Windows 10/11 as the practical minimum even if the game still lists 7.
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo / AMD X2, 2.2 GHz or better.
- RAM: 4 GB.
- GPU: DirectX 11, 1.5 GB VRAM. Steam cites AMD Radeon HD 7000 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 500 class.
- DirectX: 11.
- Network: Broadband (for Steam, not for a multiplayer mode — the game is single-player).
- Storage: 12 GB.
PC recommended
- OS: Windows 10 / 11.
- CPU: Intel i5 / AMD X4, 2.8 GHz or better.
- RAM: 8 GB.
- GPU: DirectX 11, 2 GB VRAM. Steam cites AMD R9 300 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 900 class.
- Storage: 12 GB.
The recommended GPU generation is the honest one for a comfortable 1080p. Minimum will boot. Crane cameras and dense stands are where old cards stutter. If you are shopping a laptop, 8 GB RAM is the line that matches Toplitz’s own recommend row.
Resolution and settings notes
Community threads: 1920×1080 is the safe mode. Some users never see 1440p or 4K in the list until Windows DPI scaling is disabled for LumberjacksDynasty.exe. Ultra-wide reports exist (including 5120×1440). There is no celebrated FOV slider. Full controller support is on; saw-bar binds are the catch, covered on controls.
Steam Deck compatibility: Unsupported on Valve’s published test (December 2022 build 8130442). Small text, other input, not a verified playable. Do not treat “Proton exists” as a Deck badge.
Platforms and stores
- Windows PC — Steam (app 968970), GOG, Epic Games Store. Digital Supporter Pack is extra wallpapers, soundtrack, Getting Started PDF, Ponsse feature videos, world map.
- PlayStation 4 — 30 June 2022.
- Xbox One / Xbox Series — 30 June 2022.
The Steam build is the reference for this wiki. Console players should read console release for extra bugs (stuck mill markers, logs-as-boulders, stump tools). Same systems, rougher port.
Languages
Steam lists 13 interface languages. Full audio: English and German. Subtitles/interface also include French, Italian, Spanish (Spain), Russian, Traditional Chinese, Turkish, Simplified Chinese, Portuguese-Brazil, Japanese, Dutch, Polish. This wiki covers English, German, French, and Spanish because those are the mainstream set after skipping Simplified Chinese and Russian per site rules.
Saves and disk
Windows saves: %APPDATA%\LumberjacksDynasty\Save. Each slot is several files (saveN.sav, .lgs, .fld, and others). Copy the whole slot. Steam Cloud is not a reason to skip a manual backup before Logan planting jobs.
Install directory name: Lumberjacks Dynasty. Executable: LumberjacksDynasty.exe, 64-bit only.
Should you buy it on this PC?
If you can run a 2015 DX11 sim at 1080p, you can run this. If you want 4K max trees, look at the review first — the engine, not your GPU, is the ceiling. If you want a Deck game, pick something Valve marked Playable.
Price is 19.99 USD on Steam before sales (deep discounts happen). That is a one-time purchase, not a live-service. After you install, start at Getting Started, not at a Ponsse thumbnail on YouTube. If the exe will not stay at 1080p, disable DPI scaling for LumberjacksDynasty.exe before you refund; several threads were a Windows scaling problem, not a missing GPU. Then bind Engineer’s Sight to a key you cannot miss, as controls describes, because a 4 GB minimum machine still has to show those yellow borders.
Frequently Asked Questions
